Position Purpose:

Manager, Finance will provide leadership, guidance and support in the areas of financial planning, reporting/analysis, budgeting/forecasting, accounting, governmental price reporting and capital planning. Position will coordinate efforts for all Leadiant Biosciences Inc. North American business (i.e. US and Canada). The position will report to the VP Finance but will also have several interactions with the CEO of Leadiant Biosciences Inc. and the CFO of the Holding of the Rare Disease Business (RDB) Leadiant Biosciences S.p.A..

Essential Functions:

  • Financial Reporting/Analysis
    • Create monthly commentary for financial statement issuance on both the legal entity and if needed the RDB unit internationally
    • Help create package for both local and international boards, as well as Company-wide presentations
    • Assume responsibility for data transmission and quality control to parent companies
    • Analyze data coming from subsystems, i.e., web sales, 3PL database, etc. to ensure accuracy of monthly financial statements
    • Buildout/maintain all financial reporting & planning systems – automating all relevant reports where possible
    • Perform monthly sales analysis and reporting, highlighting trends and developments
    • Participation on the new products Launch Team responsible for Finance. Support the Commercial department in sales forecasts and budget presentation including market analysis if needed
    • Continually improve reports to assist management team ability in optimizing resources
    • Assist in the creation of financial models in support of Business Development activities
    • Provide backup activities for the Treasury Department
    • Manage the various insurance programs and the insurance renewal process
    • Participate as needed to special projects in conjunction with the Finance and other departments, including but not limited to business valuations, M&A projects
  • Budgeting, Latest Estimates & Business Plan
    • Ownership and Leadership of the budget, reforecasting, and long range financial planning process across the company
    • Manage the creation of sensitivity models and analysis for annual budget, quarterly forecasts and long-range strategic plans
    • Coordinate with department managers to collect information and complete budgets and quarterly forecasts
    • Own the responsibility for the analysis of plan vs. actual results
    • Document and update/create budget policies
  • Accounting
    • Be a resource to the Director of Finance and the accounting group on routine and complex accounting issues
    • Review some of the accounting reports
  • Capital Expenditures
    • Overall accountability for capital budgeting and ensuring submitted CAR’s (Capital Appropriation Requests) are in line with budget
  • Internal Controls
    • Assist the Director of Finance with review and audit of internal controls
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
    • None


  • Bachelors and /or Masters Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis on Accounting
  • C.P.A. preferred
  • IFRS requirements skills preferred;


  • 10+ years’ experience of accounting / finance, with relevant experience in FP&A, budgeting, and/or controlling
  • Dynamic, self-starter and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry preferred (not required)
  • Good Knowledge of Accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics SL, Hyperion); Excel and Word Processing software
  • Occasional travel possible
